Thomas Moësl

About

Thomas Moësl is a multimedia artist born in Chaumont in 1997. His practice explores perception and its alterations through sound, images and installation.

A graduate of ISBA Besançon, where he received his DNSEP in 2022 with a research distinction, he develops a practice bringing together art, science and spirituality.

His work investigates altered states of consciousness and the ways sound vibrations transform our relationship with reality. Informed by Deep Listening, he approaches sound as an agent of psychological and sensory transformation. His immersive environments connect memory, architecture and vibration, exploring thresholds, liminal states and hauntology.

In 2023 he founded IRPR, the Institut de Recherche Psychoacoustique de Roubaix, with Victor Villafagne. Based in Hauts-de-France since 2022, he joined Formcore at the Couvent des Clarisses in Roubaix in 2023 and La Malterie Arts Visuels in 2024.

His work has been presented at Espace Multimédia Gantner, DOC ! and Espace Croisé, as well as in Brussels and Vienna. His recent projects include the 69th Salon de Montrouge and the Wicar residency in Rome in 2026.
